I've had several questions and comments regarding green zebra tomatoes, which have appeared in several of my posts. Green Zebras are a type of heirloom.
They are bright lime(ish) green. When they become ripe, they have yellowish stripes running through.
The zebras are smaller than a traditional tomato. And slightly sweeter.
They are delicious. Especially right off the vine.
Here they are in a tomato, basil, mozzarella salad. Just sprinkle with sea salt and olive oil.

I created the Green Zebra over 36 years ago through many years of breeding and selfing fruits. I have Green Zebra tomatoes with pedigrees of many other colors now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showcasing them.
