Outdoor Wednesday Garden

Lots of stuff happening in the garden! The tomato plants are on the left, they are getting pretty big.
This is the first tomato. It is an heirloom - Green Zebra.

More flower beds.

Glass garden sculpture made out of thrift store glass pieces. Very pretty when the light hits it just right - it sparkles.

Green gazing ball in amongst more flowers.

On the pack porch.

Garage sale owl planter I picked up a few weeks ago - he is holding herbs that are doing quite well.

Weekend Finds

Went to a bunch of sales again this weekend.

I picked up a couple of apparel design text books from the 60's. I love the pink and red colors.

Found this great condiment caddy base. It's very worn - lots of wear and tear.
But, it's from West Hotel in Minneapolis, a hotel that was built in 1884, and at the time considered the most luxurious hotel west of Chicago.
I plan to find some glasses that fit and use it to hold flowers.

This was probably a towel rack and soap dish. I thought it would be nice to hold old photographs or mail, with a little trinket dish.

Tiny silver owl salt cellar.

This is a lovely little silver tray, perfect size for holding flatware, which is good...
since I also found a handful of great silverplate pieces - including some mini sugar tongs.

This is the tray and the sugar tongs already hard at work with some grape tomatoes.

White Finds

This is a continuation of my finds at an estate sale from this past weekend, the white part!
Cute Avon poodle perfume decanter. His head screws off. Little Dutch boy planter.

Fenton milk glass toothpick holder, some milk glass candle holders.

And 2 sets of Sheffield England knives, still in their boxes. I think they were probably wedding gifts that were never used! This is the carving set with pretty silver details. The other set is 6 steak knives.

Weekend Estate Sales

This weekend I went to a bunch of Estate Sales, and this is what came home with me.
A ceramic Humpty Dumpty Teapot.

Interesting jewelry box. It has a Godey's Americanized Paris Fashion 1851 print as the lid.

Little Christmas pixies. Their hats cover their faces.

A large silver waffle server with a pretty pattern.

An old iron receipt spike. I love these even though I have no use for them.

Pink depression glass divided relish bowl, and wire whisks.

Weekend Thrifting Finds

This is my haul from this past weekend.
A fish bottle opener, and a mouse cheese server. I'm not certain how the mouse is supposed to work - but it will look cute sitting on a cheese tray.

Fancy lipstick holder.

Sugar cube tray.

Group of pastry brushes.

Pretty silver dish.
The dish has N.P.R. monogrammed on the bottom. This is the 2nd time I've come across this exact monogram, same script and everything - the other one was on a fork.

A couple of children's books with with great illustrations.
