Alice in Wonderland

I hope everyone had a lovely holiday, I certainly did.
My sister gave me an impossible to find gift - Alice in Wonderland spoon and fork, to add to my fairytale silver collection.

The baby spoon and fork feature characters such as the Queen, The White Rabbit, Mock Turtle,

The Mad Hatter,  The King,

and of course, Alice, engraved in the bowl.
Love them!!

I also received these incredible Alice in Wonderland garden statues.  So cool.

More cool stuff - a pair of salts, and an Owl Whistle.

The Owl Whistle is by Reed & Barton.

The salts have a great monogram.

Have a wonderful New Year!

Candy Cane Vodka

Candy Cane Vodka - I have been seeing it in magazines and other blogs.

Great hostess gift for holiday parties and it could not be easier.

Pour some vodka into a bottle (mine was from Container Store) or Mason Jar.  Add a few crushed candy canes.

 Make a label.
The candy canes will dissolve, and you are left with Candy Cane Vodka.

Holiday Serving Pieces

There have been lots of estate sales recently.  I've been on the lookout for some interesting serving pieces to use for the holidays.

 Cute little embossed salt dish.

A group of serving pieces including cranberry server, tomato server, small fork, cake breaker and condiment ladle.

This little ladle will be great for serving gravy.

The ladle is engraved "J.M."   The cranberry server has a figural turkey design on the handle.

The tomato server.

A group of silverplate and glass coasters.

They will be perfect for serving small hors d'oeuvres or desserts, like these mini cupcakes.

Lucite and Sterling handle cake breaker.  Cake Breakers are used to break apart delicate cakes, such an angel food cake.

 Cute little Gin plate.

And my favorite recent find.  Pair of sterling silver barrettes engraved Betty Lou.

Vintage Halloween

We love Halloween around here.  And love to collect vintage Halloween items.  These are a few of my favorite things from my collection.
Witch cupcake picks.  They may make an appearance this year on top of some Halloween cupcakes.

 Collection of Gurley candles.

The mantel, featuring the Halloween blowmolds.

I found this angry little witch this year.

A couple more Gurley candles - the witch head and the big skull.

More witch blowmolds.

Halloween noisemakers.

Halloween themed sheet music.

Party hat resting on a lampshade.

The newest addition to my collection - an old iron witch boot scrape.

Really interesting little brass plate.

It has a poem called The Pixie Litany:
From ghoulies and ghosties
And long leggetty beasties
And things that go bump in the night,
Good Lord, deliver us!

 A collection of Halloween reproductions.

Great crepe paper witch mask,

and cat mask, both made by Bethany Lowe.

And this fabulous repro witch Fortune Wheel made by The Beistle Company.  The masks and Fortune witch ordered online from The Vintage Halloween Store.

This large wood witch cutout hangs outside.  It is from the Junk Bonanza (last year).
