Tomatoes and Mr. Bunny

The tomatoes are doing great this year.
There are tons of these little cherry tomatoes.
A handful can be picked almost every day.

This is a green zebra. This one is just about ready to pick - when the lighter stripes start to turn slightly yellow.

Purple Russian tomato. These are ready to pick when they begin to turn a pinkish/purple color. They are delicious.

And this little guy shows up every day to eat. He was laying down for these photos - it was a very hot day.
We call him Mr. Bunny (though it is quite possible it should be Mrs. Bunny as baby bunnies have been seen).

Outdoor Wednesday Garden

Lots of stuff happening in the garden! The tomato plants are on the left, they are getting pretty big.
This is the first tomato. It is an heirloom - Green Zebra.

More flower beds.

Glass garden sculpture made out of thrift store glass pieces. Very pretty when the light hits it just right - it sparkles.

Green gazing ball in amongst more flowers.

On the pack porch.

Garage sale owl planter I picked up a few weeks ago - he is holding herbs that are doing quite well.

Outdoor Wednesday...more outdoor thrift finds

Even though summer is almost over, I am still finding some cute things at thrift stores to put outside. I found this cute little pig that I couldn't pass by.
And this flying pig watering can matches the elephant I already had.
This little gnome is on a long thin rod, so he can be stuck in a plant or in the ground and hover above.
This little ceramic head is both creepy and cool. It is very old, maybe it was part of a doll at one time?
And I love this little windmill. I wish I had a full size one in my backyard!

Outdoor Wednesday!

A gazing ball in among the hydrangea.
Closeup of the pink hydrangea, just starting to come in.
The green zebra tomatoes are getting really close to ready. I tried one and they were delicious, but not completely ripe yet. Few more days....
And a cute little thrift store find frog.

Basil and flowers for Outdoor Wednesday

Basil has done really well this summer.
Some purple basil is peaking through the green. Maybe it's time to make some pesto!
Flowers are overtaking the head!
This cute planter is the thrift store find from last weekend, with a pot of mint.
And a pretty black eyed Susan.
The last of gerbera daisies.

Solar Lights and Hydrangeas

The hydrangea are in full bloom, they have gone crazy!
In an antique Victorian flower basket.
And in an antique metal pitcher.

This is a night shot with a blue solar lantern. It doesn't give off much light, just a very delicate little blue light.
And a fairy holding a solar ball, also doesn't give off too much light, just a light fairy glow.

Garden Updates

Outdoor Wednesday ... garden update....most things are in full bloom right now.Pretty purple salvia.

Balloon flower.

Hollyhock.

A little duck peeks out from the rosemary.

A cute little vintage ceramic pig, found at a thrift store this week! He sits next to the elephant planter growing Thyme.

More flowers in a wine box planter.

And a whirly bird found at an estate sale. There was a big woodshop in the basement of the house, so I think this was handmade. His legs spin when it is windy, he looks like he is trying to escape.
