Silver Sunday, Cup and Sugar Spoons

This silver cup is one of my very favorite pieces.

It is made by James Tufts in Boston, probably around the turn of the century - he was out of business by 1915.

It is inscribed with the name Jimmie.

The women on the handle has incredible detail.

I keep my collection of sugar spoons in the cup.

The art nouveau styles are my favorite.

Some of these are monogrammed as well.

Shop Update

These are some things I've added to my Etsy shop today.
An antique sugar bowl with lid.
It has very pretty floral details and an "A" monogram.
I love monograms.
4 silver dessert or salad plates.
Also monogrammed, they have a "K" monogram. Very difficult to photograph without getting my reflection in the shot!
Pointer dog cufflinks.
I also love dogs.
Silver owl salt and pepper shakers.
Probably goes without saying, but I love owls, too. There is a great gray owl who lives in my backyard. I hear him all the time but I've only seen him twice. I was able to get a few photographs of him here.
And, a vintage sweater guard. (Whoops! This one already SOLD).

Black Cat Andirons

I saw these black cat andirons on one of my favorite websites www.icanhascheezburger.com (hilarious site, especially if you love cats - or cheeseburgers).
They are so cool!
I found them online - they have glass eyes that would look like they are glowing when a fire is lit!
I have seen some similar antique owl andirons, but I really like these cats. I think I have to have them.

White Wednesday - Vases

I found these 3 vases a few years ago at a garage sale. They were only $1 each.
This one is my favorite, with the triple holes in the handles.
I love how they are all different, yet similar.
Soon it will be time to fill them with flowers!
It rained here, so finally most of the snow has disappeared! Which also means garage sale season is coming!

Recent Finds, Cats, Pins and Mixer!

These are a couple of things I've found while out thrifting. A pair of Japanese cat salt and pepper shakers. The eyes are holograms. Depending on how the light hits the eyes, they are open or closed. Sometimes it looks like the cat is winking at you!
Pretty 1920's pin cushion.
It has little tiny feet, and faux pearl detailing. Perfect for antique hat pins.
Old hand mixer, with a shield. Very nice and worn. Someone got a lot of use out of it.

There is an antique show in town this weekend, I am hoping to make it there, and have more treasures to share!

White Wednesday Salt and Pepper Shakers

Another estate sale find - four mini salt and pepper shakers.
Pretty little white and hold pattern. They are made in Japan. The tops screw off, which I really like because most of these old shakers have corks which tend to crumble.
Sitting on a Haviland France dish - also estate sale find.
The dish has an "L" monogram, also with pretty gold details.

With another confusing monogram. I think it is a D, but I'm not certain which way you are supposed to look at it. It could also be a T or C. I even have a book of Victorian Monograms and I still have trouble decoding them!
