Victorian Serving Pieces

It was recently my sister's birthday.  I ordered her a Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting - possibly the best combination ever invented.

And used some of my fanciest serving pieces (some borrowed from my Etsy store).

 Pastry forks.

 with a pretty monogram.

Victorian serving pieces - a cake saw, cake serving fork, and ice cream slicer.

The ice cream slicer has the unusual teardrop shaped blade.  They were used when ice cream was made in large blocks. The ice cream slicer was used to cut pieces of the soft block to be served in bowls or sherbet glasses.

Yum.
