Vintage Ladies

This vintage image is a panoramic taken in Los Angeles. The photographer was Miles Weaver.
He was known for taking panoramic photographs, mostly of Bathing Beauty Pageants.
This one is not dated, but is probably between 1917 and 1925.
I haven't been able to figure out exactly what these ladies are doing, or why they are being photographed, but the there is a marquee in the back that reads Dancing.
Love the 1920's style!

  10. I love those old panoramic photos, especially the bathing beauty ones! I saw one at Marshalls once and didn't buy it and have been regretting it ever since! May I ask where you found yours? I searched online and could find info about the artist, but none for sale.

  11. I've been searching the internet for days trying to find the name and date of my panoramic photograph that I purchased (believe it or not) at GORDMAN'S of all places. I am THRILLED to have stumbled onto your website to find the same panoramic that I have been researching!!!!!!!
I paid $29.99 for my copy which was originally marked $60.00. It is my favorite art piece and beautifully re-mastered for clarity. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Thank you sooooo much for the information on the photograph.

  13. I have this also! Most of the ladies have square papers attached at their waists--I'll bet it is a dance card, which was popular back then. Love it! I like to think my grandmother is one of them!
