Crabapple Trees

The Crabapple Trees are in full bloom.
It has been so nice here, I think it earlier than usual this year.
Very pretty trees.

Garage Sales

Garage Sales are back in full force. I stopped at a couple this weekend. I found this great chair - it is the Canary Chair from Target's Home Line. The online cost is $300. I found it still in it's shipping box, for $20. Never been used. All I had to do was screw on the legs and attach the back - very easy.
It's hard to see in this picture, but the fabric has birds throughout it.

I also found this great vintage pressed glass candy jar. Only 75 cents!
I normally do not have luck at garage sales, but it is looking promising for this year!

Shop Updates!

These are a few things I've recently added to my Etsy Shop.
A great brass peacock. I love it - I had to exercise self control to list it, and then not to buy it myself!

Set of 6 vintage spoons - Fairoaks 1909 pattern by Rockford SP Company.
They have a pretty wreath pattern, and an E monogram.

Monogrammed G cufflinks.

Some petite Italian silverplate goblets.

Pair of M Monogrammed dinner knives. They are Cromwell 1912 pattern.

I still have more items to add!

Gray Bathroom

Gray and white is my favorite color combination. I just painted my bathroom Gray (it was previously yellow/gold). It was tough to find a true gray, not too blue or not too green. I went with Silver Sateen from Behr.
This one has some blue in it, but in most light it looks gray.

Thrift store accents all around - I found these cameos and painted them black and white.

Painted this frame white, and framed a photo I took in Paris last year.

And of course a white painted peacock.

Springtime

Spring is definitely here! We made it through all of March, and April (so far) with no snow! I think we are safe.
The yellow tulips are already fully opened.
The chives are already going crazy.
Yay! Cilantro came back. You can smell it when you get close, it smells great.
I'm not sure what this is....it could be a weed, but I think some lettuce was in this area last year. Probably just a weed though.
Lots of thing just starting to pop out!

Weekend Thrifting Finds

Here are my finds for the past week!
A little peacock mirror, and an old copy of Anna Karenina.

A little iron easel - which will be perfect for displaying old photos. It is holding a tiny plate.
The plate shows The House of Seven Gables in Salem MA. I visited the house (where Nathaniel Hawthorne once lived) a long time ago, and would love to go back.
Will add this to my pile of mismatched butter pats.

Pretty little Reed & Barton silver bowl.

And this little Noah's Arc something or other. I'm not sure what it is.
It has an opening in the center. I thought maybe a card holder?? Anyone have any ideas what it might be?

White Wednesday, More Old Photos

I found some more old photos recently at an estate sale.
They are sitting on this old white chipped stand.
I think one might be from a wedding, and maybe one a First Holy Communion.

Silver Sunday

Silver Sunday again! These are all recent estate sales finds.
First up is the tray.
It was hard to get a good shot of the details (had to shoot it with a flash), but it has an etched peacock design!

I love little silver cups, especially when monogrammed.
This one has the name Pamela engraved on it, with the date, 6/18/42.

A handful of great silver spoons. Lots of art deco details.

A set of 6 with an N monogram.

A silver dome butter dish.
The dome slides open, then underneath.

Thrifting Finds

These are a few of my thrifting adventure finds.
Cute little celluloid box with a K monogram.

Art Nouveau style brass inkwell - will be a great desk accessory.

Escargot tongs. I wasn't sure what they were for when I bought them, and rest assured, you will not catch me eating escargot, but I thought they would be great for olives, mozzarella balls, melon balls, etc.

Brass cat holding an umbrella.
