Jersey, part of the Channel Islands, UK

I am now on the island of Jersey, part of the Channel Islands. Above is Elizabeth Castle which sits just out in the bay off of St. Helier, the main city. You can walk out to the castle at low tide.
The Channel Islands are part of the UK. Jersey is very small, about 40 miles around the perimeter of the island.
Jersey is actually closer to France, it sits off the coast of Normandy. I will soon be leaving on a ferry to France, then a train to Paris!

  2. Have you heard of the novel, "The Guernsy Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society?" It is set on the channel island of Guernsy right after WWII. It's a charming book and provides alot of historical insights about the channel islands, which were occupied by the Nazis during WWII. Thought you might enjoy it since you've been there!
